The Derry/ Antrim pairing of Kevin Lynch and Francis Regan (Impreza WRC) took a narrow but convincing victory on the opening round of the 2004 “McCauley Trailers” National Forest Rally Championship in Carrick on Suir. A host of new WRC machinery, good stages and perfect dry conditions, with no rain in two weeks set the tone for a real battle to claim the honours and clock up valued Championship points.

John Foley, the Fisher Foundation Award winner has confirmed his entry into the Evo Challenge, the first round being the Sunseeker Rally 27th-28th of February. John along with his navigator Jonathan Waterman have put a deal together with their long term sponsor ASA Marketing and John O’Leary of O’Leary Motorsport to compete in an Evo VI for the opening round.

Tommy Flanagan finished a fine 2nd in class in last weekends Galway National Rally. Despite a fifteen-year break, Tommy, soon overcame the rustiness he felt was present on the first few stages to settle in nicely posting a string of second fastest class stage times. Keith Flanagan on his first rally was not fazed by the various demands on him and delivered an excellent performance to net the result.
