Wexford Motor Club are delighted to announce details of a massive €10,000 prize fund for the 2024
Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally. In conjunction with local, national and international partners, we will
be offering a prize valued at €5,000 for the overall winner of the rally and a €5,000 cash prize for the top
modified car also.
The overall prize will come in the form of €5,000 worth of either Pirelli or Michelin tyres, (depending on
the tyres used by the winning car). An additional €5,000 prize has been secured for the top modified car.
In the event that the Rally is won by a modified car, the overall €5,000 Tyre prize will be allocated to the
top Rally2/R5 car. The prizes have been agreed with our partners involved based on their wishes – full
details will be issued on Sportity (Code: WVSR2024) in due course. We hope to repeat and expand the
prize fund in future years to include additional classes.
Wexford Motor Club would like to thank the partners who have come on board to make this prize fund
possible including Pirelli, Michelin and Mary Barrys Bar, Kilmore (others to be announced). We would
love to expand the prize fund to cover additional classes - if there are partners out there interested in
getting involved, we would love to hear from you.
Entries are currently open for the rally which is a counting round of both the Midlands East Rally
Championship and the South East Stages Championship. Get your entry in now for your chance to
compete on 18 stages and 215km of top class tarmac rallying in September! Recce is possible in one day
and the weather is always good in the Sunny South East!
Over 300 marshals and volunteers will be required on the weekend of the event itself, with the now-
famous Wexford Marshals draw returning as token of appreciation to all those who give up their time to
make the event happen. If you are interested in getting involved as a marshal, please contact Chief
marshal, on 087 7626090. Full training and accreditation are provided by Motorsport
Ireland for people who would like to volunteer on the weekend. These courses run over the summer and
details can be found either on www.MotorsportIreland.com or by contacting the chief marshal.

Wexford Motor Club are delighted to announce provisional details for its 2-day Tarmac Rally running this September. Graham Scallan once again takes the helm as COC with the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally running on 14 and 15 September 2024. HQ remains in the Riverbank House Hotel, Wexford Town with the much-loved format of 3x3 stages each day, totalling 215km over 2 days and 18 stages. Regulations have been approved and entries will open in in two weeks, on Monday 15 July.
Saturday’s stages will run in Enniscorthy area with service in Enniscorthy mart. Sunday returns to the Wexford Town area with 3 stages in the south of the county and service based in Wexford Racecourse. As has been the case for the past 2 years, the stages have been picked by active competitors with competitors wishes in mind. The team have focussed on selecting flowing stages with good surfaces and minimal need for chicanes. Stages are easily looped making it possible to do a full 2 pass recce in one day. Sunday’s schedule has been devised with overseas and northern competitors in mind, allowing those with a long journey to get away as early as possible and home for a well-earned rest.
As with previous years, a ceremonial start will be held in the centre of Wexford Town on the Friday evening, giving spectators and the public a chance to see these fantastic machines up close. Plans are afoot to make this year’s ceremonial start more spectacular than ever. The famous after-rally party will be held in the Riverbank House Hotel after prize giving.
The Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally is organised and run by a dedicated team of Wexford Motor Club members who are assisted on the weekend by volunteers from all over the country. The core team of organisers from the Club spend over 10 months planning the rally and putting all elements into place. Over 300 marshals and volunteers will be required on the weekend of the event itself, with the now-famous Wexford Marshals draw returning as token of appreciation to all those who give up their time to make the event happen. If you are interested in getting involved as a marshal, please contact Chief marshal on 087 7626090. Full training and accreditation are provided by Motorsport Ireland for people who would like to volunteer on the weekend. These courses run over the summer and details can be found either on www.MotorsportIreland.com or by contacting Paul.
The Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally is the biggest annual sporting event in county Wexford and brings over €1.5m in benefits to the local Wexford economy each year. The event is run in conjunction with Wexford County Council and An Garda Siochana with the aim of promotion a safe and enjoyable weekends entertainment for all. We would appeal to all involved to heed the Advice of An Garda Siochana and Motorsport Ireland and ‘Keep the Race in Its Place’!
