Share a Dream Kids enjoy thrills in Kildare’s Mondello Park

Rally Driving dreams came true on Sunday for James, Dylan, Aaron & Ciara at Mondello Park at the Irish Rally Competitor’s Marshals Day. The IRCA organise this event each year as a thank you to the marshals and stewards who assist in the running of their sport and over 70 of Ireland’s top Rally cars turned out in appreciation of the cause. Support for a national charity is also an important part of the day and this year the charity was the ‘Share a Dream’ foundation who, each year helps hundreds of families of sick children throughout Ireland to escape from their everyday lives and just have fun and fun is what they brought to Mondello.
IRCA Competitors, Marshals and organisers enjoyed a very special day with the Kids and the IRCA agreed they all got a lot more back than they gave. To witness the courage, humour and joy of these kids is truly an inspiration to us all.

Share a Dream Foundation

The IRCA are privileged this year to share our Marshals Day with such a cause as the Share a Dream foundation. Every year we invite a charity to use our day and every year we enjoy the involvement but this year will be special as drivers will take kids on a lap of the famous track and provide them with a souvenir DVD of the experience. Even though we have all been touched at one time or another with terminal illness in our family or friends, it is rare that collectively we get a chance to show our support. This year we will offer all competitors attending Mondello or not to donate to this charity, we have opened a page on mycharity.ie and would encourage all our members to offer whatever little support you can.
Dreams are very special to all of us. The Share a Dream Foundation move heaven and earth to make a dream come true for a child who is terminally ill. Share a Dream needs you! You are so important to helping make dreams come true for sick children. You can do so many things to raise funds.
Share a Dream is funded entirely from within Ireland and the funds are spent in Ireland for the benefit of children suffering from life threatening illness, chronic disease and disability. Share a Dream does not receive any government funding and is entirely supported by individuals, community groups and companies – large and small.
Marshals Pay back day scheduled for Sunday 22nd Jan 2012 in Mondello Park

The Irish Rally Competitors Association is pleased to announce the Marshals Pay back day has been scheduled to run on Sunday 22nd Jan 2012 in Mondello Park. Now firmly established as a must do day for all, entries are expected to fill quickly so you are advised to post them in early.
As ever the purpose of this day is to provide an opportunity to pay thanks for the marshals who make our sport possible during the season and raise money for charity.
Marshals will be allowed 3 passenger rides in 3 different rally cars. This year Marshals will be simply be selected by the Motor Clubs, persons they deem to have given outstanding service throughout the year.
Competitors will then be given the opportunity to bring their own guests for passenger rides on the famous Mondello track. It promises, again, to be a day for all to remember.
It is our intention this year to work with the ‘ Share a Dream’ foundation as our charity and allow the opportunity for some very special guests to get a drive in a rally car, more on this later.
