IRISH MOTORSPORT ANNUAL 2009

Posted: December 8, 2008 3:08 PM

Now in its 32nd edition, the Irish Motorsport Annual has been nicknamed “The Bible of Irish Motorsport”. From Motorcycle Road Racing, to Rallying, Circuit Racing to Karting, Autotests to Rallycross, Sporting Trials to Autograss, Drifting to Formula 1, it’s in the Irish Motorsport Annual. Editor, Andrew Bushe has been busy putting the pieces together.
“It’s been an up and down season throughout the varied forms of Irish Motorsport, and we have tried to illustrate that with the features and insight in the Annual. My aim, as last year is try and maintain the high standards set by Michael O’Carroll as editor for 30 years, and it’s thanks to the many superb contributors that I am able to aim for this. Once again I have been fortunate to have superb photographs to illustrate the year, and I have tried to cover everything as much as possible.” And it’s covered by the top writers. Michael O’Carroll, Declan Quigley, Alan Tyndall, Michael Lyster, Linda Keen, Tim Whittington, Mark Hamilton and the editor Andrew Bushe, have written their opinions on what has been a year of Irish success in racing at home and abroad; controversy, a new tarmac champion and the credit crunch in Irish rallying; triumph and tragedy in motorcycling, and immense popularity amongst all the forms of motorsport

Profiles on A1 GP Team Ireland now leading the series, Tarmac Rally Champion Eamonn Boland, Lawrence Gibson the British Rallycross Champion, local racers Robert Barrable and Patrick McKenna. Tributes to road racers Robert Dunlop, and Martin Finnegan, hard hitting opinion and interviews regarding Rally Ireland, the cancellation of the Killarney Historic Rally and light hearted events are all amongst the action and reaction packed pages.

Indeed as we head into 2009, with Rally Ireland on our doorstep in January, it’s time to reflect on a colourful 2008 season. Thanks to Ashville Media the IMSA is published in its colourful design, and will be available in the shops from December 9th, at the unaltered, credit crunching price of 9.99€/ £8.00stg.
