A complete contrast of conditions greeted the remaining competitors on the second day of the Kumho Tyres Scottish Rally, the clear skies were welcomed after the previous days torrential rain. Rory Galligan led the TOTAL supported Super 106 Cup competitors away for a further 40.58 competitive stage miles with the opening stage run through Glengap Forest to the west of Dumfries.

The town of Dumfries in South West Scotland will play host to the Scottish Rally this weekend. The rally boasts an impressive entry, with top formula rally competitors and many one make series including the Ford Ka Championship, the Polo Challenge and the Peugeot Super 106 Cup.

Over 25 Peugeot crews descended on Wales last Saturday to compete in the Swansea Bay Rally. The crew only had two weeks since round two to convert their cars from tarmac spec to gravel for this 65 mile event, which was run deep in the Welsh forests.

After two unsuccessful rounds of the Peugeot Super 106 Cup, Kris finally started his championship campaign with a convincing win through the Welsh forests. The Swansea Bay Festival Rally consisted of five stages in classic Rally Great Britain territory, with stages such as Rheloa and Rhondda making up sixty-three competitive miles.

Kris Meeke put his previous retirements behind him with a mature and consistent performance to take his first victory in the Super 106 Cup. An incredible fight for second place saw Faulkner drive out of the final stage with a rear puncture, dropping six seconds to Champion, the result being a dead heat on time.

Garry Jennings and Martin McGarrity pulled off the most unexpected of victories in a stunning climax to an eventful second day of the Rallye Charlemagne.

The pairing only took the lead on the final stage of the event. Jennings had driven faultlessly throughout the event and his patience paid off when Champion, who had led most of the second day picked up a puncture on the unlucky Stage 13 dropping over four minutes.

A Mediterranean like promenade at New Brighton saw the TOTAL supported Super 106 Cup start in exhilarating style after the long lay off due to the foot and mouth crisis. The event was created to fill the void, and despite the unusual rally format, it generated massive enthusiasm from the 31 strong Super 106 Cup contenders.

The Rally Du Terre D'Auvergne was the starting point for a new season and championship challenge for Billy Coleman Award winner, Rory Galligan. This event was the first round of the French 106 Championship, run high in the mountains of the south of France. Over 60 Peugeot 106's entered the 95 mile gravel event which was the first round of the French National Gravel Championship.

This weekend The Quinton Rally will play host to round 6 of the Peugeot Super 106 Cup. This is a 45 mile stage event set in the Welsh forests. The route will use some of the famous, fast, flowing RAC stages of Crychan and Caeo.

A stunning recovery drive on the Scottish based Jim Clark Rally saw promising Irish rally talent Max McKillen secure a well deserved fifth in the latest round of the Peugeot Super 106 Cup over the weekend. The 26 year old took the position following a display of some superb driving storming his way through from the tail end of the field.
