Mark Fisher in a works Peugeot 106 against Niall McShea in his Asquith Saxo is the latest fascinating duel announced for next Saturday's (29th July) SEAT Lurgan Park Rally. The two young tigers should provide fireworks in the Super 1600 division, with a provisional entry also received from former British Rally Champion Martin Rowe in a works Ford Puma.

The event will be held close to DOON, BALLINAHOWN, ATHLONE on the main ATHLONE BIRR Road (N62). The venue will be signposted from Ballinahown.
The event will begin with Scrutiny from 9.30hrs, Practice 11.00hrs and Timed Runs will commence at 12.00hrs. Drivers will be allowed One practice run.

Irish Dunlop is to sponsor the National Rally Championship. Initially the company has agreed a two year deal with Motorsport Ireland for the sponsorship. There are options to extend this according to Mr. Richard Warbrick, Commercial Manager of Irish Dunlop. Mr. Warbrick was speaking at the announcement of the sponsorship earlier today, Tuesday 18th January 2000.

Following the cancellation of the Co Kildare MC "Heartbreak" Navigation Trial the position with the Championship is as follows:

In accordance with Article 6, Appendix "R" of the Motorsport Ireland 200 Yearbook the reserve event, which is the Munster MC & CC Navigation Trial scheduled for 8/9th April 2000, will be added to the list of counting rounds. This restores the number of counting rounds to eight and competitors will count their best six scores.
