BHRC review on Christmas Day on Motors TV

Posted: December 20, 2011 10:47 AM

The review programme of the 2011 Dunlop/WONAGO MSA British Historic Rally Championship will make perfect festive viewing when it is screened for the first time on Motors TV at 9pm on Christmas Day.

The spectacle of Ford Escorts, Porsche 911s, Saabs, Vauxhall Chevettes and Hillman Imps tackling classic forest and asphalt stages is surely the perfect antidote to the regular Christmas Day TV programmes. The two-hour review covers all the action as crews competed from the forests of Wales to the closed public roads of Ulster and Flanders. The programme will include stunning in-car footage as well as interviews with some of the characters involved in historic rallying.

As well as the initial prime-time slot on Motors TV, the programme will have several repeats in the week after the initial transmission.

Backing for the 2011 coverage came from BHRC TV partners CES (www.autosessive.com), Sherwood Engines (www.sherwoodengines.co.uk), Skipton Ford (www.skipton-ford.com.uk) Tuthill Porsche (www.francistuthill.co.uk), West Wales Rally Spares (www.westwalesrallyspares.co.uk) and XS Racing www.xsracing.net).

All seven rounds of the BHRC were televised during 2011, with dedicated hour-long programmes on Motors TV, produced by www.rallytv.co.uk, the company headed by David Winstanley.

Posted: June 12, 2011 5:16 PM

The schedule for TV coverage of the Dunlop/WONAGO MSA British Historic Rally Championship has been extended, with the addition of two more dedicated hour-long programmes on Motors TV.

Following rave reviews from competitors and fans, a mid-season review programme has been added to the schedule. This programme, planned to air in early September, will review the opening four gravel BHRC rallies and will feature previously unseen coverage as well as new on-board footage.

This new programme will follow coverage of the Swansea Bay Historic Rally, which is a round of the Water End Gravel Cup. The programme covering the 16 July rally will be screened on Saturday 6 August at 9pm.

When added to full coverage of the eight main BHRC events and an end of year review programme, this brings the total TV coverage of the championship to 11 hours of primetime action. In addition, each programme will benefit from multiple repeats in the week following the initial broadcast.

Rally TV, the company headed by David Winstanley, is again responsible for the coverage. His team is exclusively filming all events and producing television programmes as well as DVDs, which are available through www.rallytv.co.uk and via the HRCR shop (www.hrcr.co.uk)
