Fisher Foundation Young Driver Award for 2008 Announced!

The 6th annual recipient of the Fisher Foundation Young Driver Safety Award has been announced, the winner this year is Martin McCormack from Draperstown. The Fisher Foundation award is valued at £7,500 and is a real boost for the coming year for Martin and comes as an excellent early birthday present for young driver who turns 22 next week.

For the third year running The Fisher Foundation has announced the Rally safety Awards to organisations focussed on enhancing safety in the sport of rallying in Ireland. Grants totalling £7,500 have been awarded to 4 organisations in N. Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

FISHER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES YOUNG DRIVER AWARD!
The influence of the Fisher name continues to live on in the world of rallying, following the announcement of the ‘‘Young Driver Safety Award’’. The Foundation announced John Foley Jnr. from Middleton in Co. Cork as this years successful award recipient.

IRISH MOTORSPORT AND VOLUNTARY WORK OVERSEAS BENEFIT FROM FIRST FISHER
FOUNDATION AWARDS
Seven Irish Motorsporting Organisations will receive grants to improve
motorsporting safety to the tune of £10,500 as a result of the first bi-annual distribution of funds from The Fisher Foundation and a further
£7,500 is being allocated to send Garry Jennings on a winter rallying
safety training scheme in Norway.

The closing date for applications requesting funding from the Fisher
Foundation is fast approaching. (Monday 14th October.) There are two separate awards that can
be applied for.
1. The Fisher Foundation Rally Safety Awards.
2. The Fisher Foundation Young Driver Training Award.
