1. The Fisher Foundation Rally Safety Awards.
Safety in rallying was
always of paramount importance to Bertie Fisher, especially the safety
of spectators, marshals, officials and competitors. Applications are
invited from Motor Clubs and other relevant organisations associated
with rallying, seeking to improve safety standards on rally events.
2. The Fisher Foundation Young Driver Training Award.
This award will
enable a young driver to attend an overseas international rally training
school, and will cover costs of traveling, accommodation, course fees
and the hire of a rally car for the practical training period of the
course. The course, which provides both classroom and practical tuition,
is designed to raise the driver's safety awareness and develop safe
driving skills, with the overall aim of helping to improve safety
standards in rallying. The participant will receive both classroom and
practical tuition. Applications are invited from Young Drivers, born and
permanently resident in Ireland, who have registered for the Junior
Category in either the current year's Irish Tarmac International Rally
Championship, or the British International Rally Championship.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Fisher Foundation website,
www.fisher-foundation.com> Motor
Sports Safety Initiative > Application details. All applications must
reach the Fermanagh Trust offices by Monday 14th October.
If you have already downloaded an application form, could you check that
it is the current form.
Whilst you're at the website you can download the Spectator Safety
Briefing which is a useful handout that can be freely copied, reproduced
and re-distributed. All that we ask is that the link back to the
official website is maintained.
