KDMC Autocross - Firies - August Bank Holiday Weekend

All roads lead to Firies village this holiday weekend, where the Killarney & District Motor Club are organising an Autocross event. Action takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with practice starting at 1:30p.m. and racing getting underway at 2:00p.m. on both days.

Local drivers will be challenging drivers from all over Munster and further afield for class and overall honors, driving a wide variety of cars and specials. A special award will be given to the fastest overall driver of both days racing, the Jimmy Devane Memorial Cup. Jimmy is a much missed and popular member of the Killarney & District Motor Club who passed away in 2009. Jimmy was a regular competitor and winner in his Darby O’Gill’s sponsored yellow Nissan Cherry.
Prizegiving will take place in Pat Sheahan’s Bar in Firies on both evenings after the event. A donation will be made to local charity from the proceeds of the event.

The Jimmy Devane Memorial Killarney Autocross Weekend 2011 will take place on the bank holiday weekend of the 30th-31st July 2011.
The 2 day grass surface event will be held in Firies, Killarney, Co-Kerry and will be signposted from Farranfore on both days.

This year's August Bank Holiday Weekend Autocross will be a Grass surface event.
