The Management Committee are deeply disappointed to lose what was planned as our first round of the Scottish Rally Championship, the AM Phillip Trucktech Snowman Rally. We know the hard work the event organisers had already put into this year’s event.
For 2024, following the expiry of the previous two year agreement for events to use forestry land, Forestry and Land Scotland Management have changed the processes involved in the administration and repair of the roads used for multi-venue forest events. A new agreement is still in the process of being finalised. All parties involved are continuing their strenuous efforts to get new agreements confirmed and finalised. This work is fully supported by Motorsport UK and the Scottish Rally Championship.
As stated by the organising team of The AM Phillip Trucktech Snowman Rally, the setbacks on the original planned route, and the proposed changes to how they engage with landowners has left them no option but to cancel this year’s event.
We know they will come back stronger in the future and we will continue to support them in every way we can.
The Scottish Rally Championship can confirm that the 1st round will now be the McDonald & Munro Speyside Stages on the 19/20th April, and we will still have the proposed 7 rounds as per the previously issued calendar.
Championship Regulations will be available soon, and Registrations will open shortly for which we are confident will be another successful year.

Following on from a very successful and well received 2023 KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship, the SRC organising team are pleased to confirm a tried & tested, but slightly slimmed down calendar for 2024.
With the Carlisle stages sitting out 2024 whilst the organising team focus on a new event (which forms the reserve event as listed above), we have taken the opportunity to reduce the series to 7 rounds, with the best 5 scores to count.
At the end of this year’s Championship, the SRC team commissioned an end of season survey to get feedback from both competitors & officials on what was good about the 2023 championship, and what could be improved. As ever, it’s difficult to put a calendar together that suits everyone, but we believe what we have landed on will once again provide some of the closest competition in the UK over 7 well organised events, with events evenly spaced- out allowing competitors to plan a realistic season.
The backing of strong sponsors, partners and supporters is vital to putting a championship together, and we are grateful that we have had such fantastic support once again in 2023. In particular, a huge thanks to our title sponsor KNC Groundworks, Championship Partners Albyn Garage and Moates Offshore, our Media partner Royal Aero, Tyre Partner Pirelli & Fuel partner Gulf.
We must also take this opportunity to thank our outgoing title sponsors KNC Groundworks for their enthusiastic support over the 4 years since stepping up to the role in 2019. That support will be properly marked at the final event of the season, the awards evening at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on 27th January.
Outgoing SRC Chairman Roy Campbell said:
“The Management Committee of the SRC are extremely proud of the 2023 season with particular thanks to the event organisers on running very competitive and enjoyable rallies, including innovative new formats.
The other main asset the championship has is a fantastic competitor base, with registrations up for 2023, and it’s thanks to their continued support that the Championship has been so successful and so well received.
It highlights the competitive nature of the events in Scotland with two crews entering the final stage on the exact same time on three events and the overall Championship only being decided on the final stage of the final round.
Based on the success of the 2023 season we have planned more of the same in 2024 and we wish everyone involved a happy and safe new year.”
Between now and the end of the year Championship Regulations will be updated and sent to MS UK for approval. As always, the breakdown of classes and list of awards and incentives will be reviewed and updated as required to try and keep the championship interesting and relevant to as many competitors and cars as possible.
Registrations for the 2024 Scottish Rally Championship will open early in the New Year once regulations have been approved. Visit the website for more details, link below:
