The Carlisle Stages Rally, in association with Kielder Water and Forest Park Development Trust has opened entries for the 22 October event as organisers reveal an exciting mix of forests tests on offer in the one-day gravel event.
The popular all-gravel stage rally will once again host an impressive lineup of national championships, including the Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship and Mixed Surface Championships, the KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship and the ANECCC Stage Rally Championship.
Kielder Castle will provide the perfect backdrop to house the rally start and finish, one of the major landmarks in England’s largest forest and the surrounding area, whilst Greenside Car Park, which is located opposite Kielder Waterside Park, will be home to the event service area.
Organised by the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club, the rally will utilise six of the best stages in and around the Kielder Forest complex with over 44 miles of competitive action in Buck Fell, Florida, Hyndlee and Riccarton on offer for crews during the day. Two wheel-drive competitors will run first on the road in a reverse seeded order, followed by four wheeled-drive contenders.
“We are delighted to launch the 2022 Carlisle Stages Rally in association with Kielder Water and Forest Park Development Trust,” said Clerk of the Course Nicola Heppenstall.
"We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure a fantastic route for our championship and visiting competitors and we believe we have a great mix of stages to challenge everyone during the day. They look in great condition too and with our two-wheel-drive contenders running first on the road, it should mean everyone has the chance to enjoy them properly".
"We are once again honoured to be the final round of the British Historic and Scottish Rally Championship and look forward to welcoming everyone to Kielder in October".
