The Hillclimb organising team at Connacht Motor Club are delighted that their scheduled event will take place on Saturday October 23rd.
Clerk of the Course, Ultan Mc Gowan having overcome two disappointments last year due to Covid, is adamant that all the preparation by the team will deliver an exceptional event for the club.
Whilst its a first for the Sligo/Leitrim based club, much detailed planning has gone into the 1.7km hill selection which had inputs from all stakeholders.
Archive material does show though, that Hill climbing historically was quite popular in this region with sections of the Curlew Mountain being used as a circuit in the distant past.
Entries open on Thursday evening September 30th and close on October 20th.
