"Clitheroe and District Motor Club are sad to announce that Jack Neal Memorial Rally scheduled for the 1st Feb has been cancelled. This is because of a £4500 increase in cost plus whilst we will no longer have the use of the grain store or briefing room.
Having considered it, we have come to the conclusion the venue is no longer viable.
It is a shame that the new management has taken this view, after over 10 years of building up the two events to be popular and well attended. That said we have to respect their decision. I believe that other clubs have had the same issue with their events.
I think now is a good time to recognise others involved in this event. Bruce Lindsay for coming up with the concept all those years ago, Steve Lewis for being the next Clerk, Maurice Ellison for being involved in all of them in one form or another, usually as Chief Marshal. Heidi and now Katie as Secretary and all the volunteers over the years who have made the events happen, thanks to you all.
The Jack Neal is not lost, I owe it to Jack to ensure it continues in one form or another."
