HMC Statement on ‘Welsh Marches Mini Epynt Stages’

"After much thought and deliberation, the Council of Herefordshire Motor Club Ltd has taken the decision that their popular event, the "Welsh Marches Mini Epynt Stages" rally will not be held for the foreseeable future.

This decision was not taken lightly, but after organising ten successful, consecutive years of motorsport on the Epynt military ranges, sadly the final time control has been reached. Everyone’s time is precious and with such an event taking over 8 months to organise, with the requirement of much support and team work, there were insufficient volunteers to take the event forward.

The 2019 event was called off for similar reasons but it was hoped that a re-group and plea for help would enable H.M.C. to continue with the rally. This has not been the case however, and with several of the team also organising the ‘Torques Builth Showground Stages’, rather than stretch them and other resources to the maximum, something had to give!

Herefordshire Motor Club would like to thank all officials, rescue & recovery crews, results team, radio crews, marshals and set up volunteers for their support over the years. Not forgetting all of the competitors who entered the rally and who made it all worthwhile. So many great friends and memories made over the 10 years."
