Christmas is coming and 4 days later we have the ever popular Birr & District Motor Club’s Turkey Chaser Autotest on Sunday 29th December in the wonderful surroundings of Garahys Truck Garage Birr. 3 Test sites will be used on Concrete & Loose Surfaces suitable for MVAT, Road & Endurance Cars. Tests will straight forward and not to taxing on the brain. One Event licences will also be available.

As quoted by Brian Duggan of rally.ie fame everybody who does this autotest will leave Garahys will a larger waist line due to the excellent food & the legendary Stew provided by the Eithne Garahy. Brian maintains that in order to be competitive, one must complete all tests before lunch in order to avoid the afternoon slump/sleep after the lunch of delicious Stew & Chocolate Cake.

Some interesting Entries include the Garahy Family Kieran the Dad, Dearbhaile, Ciaran, Jane, Hanna & Stephen along with Kevin Dempsey. Other entrants include MX5 Supremo Piers MacFheorais, Declan Burke in the VW Beach Buggy, Keith Shaw, Robert Lewis, Eoin Longworth, Patrick O’Leary, Whitby Moynan, Zara Moynan, John Nolan, Aoife Ryan, James Dwyer, Darragh Egan, Declan Donohoe, Colin Sheridan, Martin Nugent, Brian Duggan & Darren Delaney who will all drive Toyota Starlets which is the most popular car for this event. As per usual Garahys Garage will provide Breakdown Assistance, Starlet Parts & On Event Mechanics which include Ger Connolly, Oliver Stanley & Ian McLoughlin to assist those in need of refurbishment (Cars & Drivers Included).

Clerk of the Course is the legendary John Delaney who promises challenging but simple tests and above a fun filled day of cheap motorsport.

Entry Fee is €50 euro and One Event Licence Cost €25 but must be pre booked in advance.
