Donegal Forest Rally Press Release 1

Posted: April 3, 2019 2:29 PM

The Roar of the Forest comes back to Donegal on May 18th as The Donegal Motor Club welcomes Round Four of the Valvoline Irish Forestry Championship . The event will also be round two of the hotly contested 2019 Donegal Commercials Club Championship.

2017 was the last time the Irish Forestry championship was in Donegal and this year will be no disappointment. Even though, it has been two years since the championship has graced the hills of Donegal this year sets out to be the best year yet. This years' rally will be based In the Allingham Arms Hotel in Bundoran the Venue used on the Successful 2015 Event.

John Crumlish COC of this year's event commented 'preparations and planning are well underway with the help of my team. They are all working extremely hard together to pull out all of the stops and make this year's event that little bit extra special. I would also like to thank all the staff in Coillte for their help to date.' Everything is now coming together the stages are in fantastic condition with a Total Stages Distance of 69Kms. The Format is 3x2 and the Stages on this years Rally have not been used on the current variation and will be a challenge to all the Competitors .

The Championship chairman Ray Fitzpatrick has been an invaluable help to date for the committee and has put in a lot of hard work on the running of a successful championship yet again for 2019. The J 1000 has been a great incentive to bring in new faces to the sport and we hope to see alot in the Donegal Woods come May 18th. This is an event that everyone in Donegal is looking forward to, especially the locals and the businesses around the Bundoran area. So far, it looks to be shaping up to be a fantastic event.

Regs and Entries will be Open after the Munster Car Clubs Moonraker Rally in two weeks we hope to as many crews as possible leave the Start Line at 10am on Saturday 18th May from the Allingham Arms.
