The 2019 Cork Motor Club “1000 Shakes” Navigation Trial was scheduled to take place on the weekend of 12/13 January 2019 with a route based around the Co. Cork town of Macroom. The event is a counting round of the 2018/2019 Motorsport Ireland National Navigation Trial Championship.
On Friday January 11th, the Clerk of the Course along with the club secretary were informed by the offices of Motorsport Ireland in Dawson St. Dublin, that the event could not take place due to a recent matter which relates specifically to Navigation Trials ONLY. Cork Motor Club was informed that this matter is currently being examined by Motorsport Ireland, however as a resolution was unlikely to be in place prior to our event, Cork Motor Club were requested to postpone the 2019 “1000 Shakes”.
The Directors and members of Cork Motor Club would like to thank the Clerk of the Course, Patrick O’Sullivan and his team for the tremendous amount of work he and the team had invested into preparing what was promising to be a superb evenings motorsport in Cork. Cork Motor Club would also like to thank the competitors who had entered the event, our neighbouring clubs for their assistance along with the land owners and residents on the route for their co-operation.
Cork Motor Club hope to reschedule the event as soon as Motorsport Ireland have found a solution to the matter currently preventing the event from taking place.
