"Unfortunately this years event will not go ahead as planned. We would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to get this event back on the calendar. We would particularly like to acknowledge Failte Ireland and Dublin City Council. Thanks also to The OPW and to everyone in Motorsport Ireland.
A big thank you to all who had pledged sponsorship for the event both financially and otherwise.
We fell short in trying to raise enough money to make the event financially viable. There is huge support from all around for this event and we are confident that it will return."

Motorsport Ireland Statement

"The Motorsport Commission have considered in detail a proposal to run a motor sport event in Phoenix Park in 2016. While there is no one who does not want to see motor sport back in "the Park" this proposal is not considered to be viable."
