Cookstown Motor Club Ltd are pleased to introduce the latest edition of the Tyrone Stages Rally which for 2015 will take place on the Saturday 25th July based at Cookstown. This will be an all-tarmac affair on the closed public roads in the foothills of the Sperrins and is a counting round of the McGrady Insurance Northern Ireland Stages Rally Championship.
The Club would like to welcome the former and very experienced Rally Engineer, Dean Hetherington, now the owner of POC NI Distribution Ltd and we are delighted to announce their sponsorship for this, Round 5 of the Northern Ireland Rally Championship and an all tarmac event, in association with ourselves. This is a big first for both POC NI Distribution Ltd and Cookstown Motor Club Ltd and both companies hope that this prestigious event will be a safe and exciting day for all competitors and spectators.
Clerk of the Course, Bob McKeown would like to thank all members of the organising team, who have given so freely of their time and talents to organize the event. However, it?s only with the support of our sponsors - main sponsor being POC NI Distribution Ltd, Glenavon House Hotel, our service area sponsor is The Body Stop and our stage sponsors are Slate Fuels, McNulty Motors and C Bradley Motorsport that we are able to run events like this?.
This is an event not to be missed by any motorsport enthusiast. Headquartered at the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown, the first car is due to leave at 11:30am. The format for the rally is 2 loops of 3 stages, covering more than 44 competitive stage miles of closed roads. These challenging stages have been selected to test the skill and determination of all the crews and with up to 90 high performance rally cars expected, it promises to be an exciting spectacle for spectators. Clerk of the Course Bob McKeown would once again like to thank the residents for their co-operation and support for the rally and feels that the roads selected should make it be one of the best tarmac events in Northern Ireland in 2015.
