Press Release The Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally to feature on Irish TV The Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally will kick start Irish TV’s 2015 dedicated coverage to motorsport. The popular event will be viewed by a global audience when it is broadcast on Irish TV Sky channel 191 on Tuesday, January 13 at 10pm. Motorsport fans across Ireland, the UK and the world watching on TV or online at Irishtv.com can enjoy top rally action from some of Ireland’s most famous rally roads including the world-respected Moll’s Gap.

With some of the most challenging stages in Europe set against a scenic backdrop, the Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally is also the opening round of the 2015 Clonakilty Black Pudding Irish Tarmac Historic Rally Championship. Attracting up to 150 competitors from all over Ireland and Britain rally enthusiasts will be at the edge of their seats as the drivers tackle classic stages like the aforementioned Molls Gap, Ballaghabeama, Carragh Lake and Gortnagane, often rated as the best and most challenging in the world. And the winner will receive free entry to the Barbados Rally Carnival, adding a new and exciting dimension to this year’s event.

“Irish TV are delighted to kick off our 2015 rally coverage with this great annual event and we look forward to launching our exciting spring schedule in the coming weeks which will include rallying from the tarmac rally championship, the national rally series and the forest championship among others,” said Toni Bourke, Irish TV’s content editor. Irish TV officially became Ireland’s first international channel targeting the global Irish Diaspora having signed a content contract with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland last year. Since its launch last May Irish TV has gone from strength to strength. A Red C poll indicated that over 20 per cent of the Irish public are now tuning in to Irish TV, with 51 per cent aware of the channel.
