London Rally for Heroes - NOT GOING AHEAD

"In recent weeks Southern Car Club has had numerous enquiries about London Rally for Heroes 2014; from competitors, sponsors, the media and championships. Up until now we have striven to find a way to find the resources, both externally and internally within the club, to ensure that we could organise another rally worthy of supporting Help for Heroes. As a reminder the 2013 event raised in excess of £15,000 for the charity

No-one was more excited, or enthused, than us by what we achieved - with unbelievable support from member clubs of the Association of Central Southern Motor Clubs . But the biggest support came from our friends in the Army, who provide the detailed liaison required with Defence Estates, English Nature and others, and conducted the hugely detailed staff work needed to unlock brand new military venues for motorsport

As is well known, the British military is undergoing difficult & challenging structural changes and as a consequence we are advised that our key military friends will not be able to devote the same time or energy to providing that detailed support for an event in 2014

So, Southern Car Club, are reluctantly taking the decision not to organise London Rally for Heroes in 2014; the date that had been agreed with MSA Rally Steering Group was 25/26 April.

Our enthusiasm for the concept is not diminished, and we will now look longer term to see what may be possible in 2015- more new venues and a major championship?
