"As most of you are aware, the events of just a couple of weeks ago have had a huge impact on the Looby family. As the lads continue on their road to recovery, thankfully, ongoing care, household bills and even simple accommodation for the family all soon adds up. A group of people have opened a fund to raise money for the boys and their families at this time. There are plans behind the scenes currently to look at some Fundraising event(s) but for now, the account has been opened and any donations are welcomed.
The account details are:
Looby Brothers Rehabilitation Fund. Acc no 02357739 sort code 93-53-79
An IBAN no. And SWIFT code for any overseas donations has been requested.
More than anyone, I appreciate how difficult times are currently but any donations are welcomed."

"It was with real sadness that I learned of the death of Joe Lane and Caroline Cleary yesterday. I knew Joe for many years and you could be sure to see him, with his camera at every event.
He was a real gentleman and always took time to chat and took great pride in talking me through the hundreds of action shots he took on the stages.
My last meeting with Joe was at the Killarney, Rally of the Lakes. Following our retirement, the car was being taken off the stage and we were sitting at the side of the road. Joe drove by and seeing Paddy and me turned back. As usual he had his camera close by and took a few shots of us. We had a quick chat and he took a calendar from his car for me to sign. It is unbelievable that this was the last time we were to meet.
Joe together with Caroline, will be truly remembered for their great love of Irish Motorsport. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to both families on their tragic loss.
My thoughts are also with the Driver and Co-Driver. It is heartbreaking that this has happened to them while participating in the sport that they obviously love.
I would also at this time wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time."

Round 2 of the 2012 Sligo Pallets Border Rally Championship, the Monaghan Stages Rally certainly lived up to its billing as one of the best events over the last few years. The 200km route was universally praised by competitors and with just half of the starters making it to the finish, demonstrated the challenge that faced both man and machine during the day. The Border 'Drive of the Day' award, which goes to the fastest crew in a chosen class on a chosen stage was selected as stage five for class 11 crews on this event. Weather conditions were mixed during the day, which made selecting the appropriate tyre all the more important.
Class 2-4:
Adrian Cannon/Paddy McCrudden made it two wins out of two in their Honda Civic after a one minute class 2 victory from Stephen Bradley/Graham Henderson in a similar car. Mark Ewing/Rachel McConnell were victorious in class 3 in their Civic from Pakie Duffy/Micheal Reilly. In class 4, Shane Maguire/Martin McGarritty thanks to a 4th overall finish were the top registered finishers to move into the lead of the class in the championship. James O'Reilly is now 2nd in the navigators section after guiding Sam Moffett to 2nd overall and 1st in class.
Class 6-8:
Joe McGonigle/Ciaran Geaney maintained their winning ways in class 6 after an excellent run to 15th overall. Roger Kennedy/Wendy Blackledge also made it two consecutive win in class 7 but with no other starters they only inherit 6 points in the championship. Surprisingly no class 8 registered crew made the finish after a tough day for the World Rally Cars as all three failed to finish.
Class 9-11:
Barry McGill scored his 2nd consecutive class 9 win, with Paul Clarke stepping in to the navigators seat at the last minute. They were also three minutes clear of Brendan O'Reilly/Mark Hamaill in 2nd. Patrick Kiernan/Darren O'Brien took a fine class 10 win to kick start their Border campaign after a non-finish in Mayo. Aaron McQuaid/Aiden Coyle, last year's championship runners-up finished in 2nd place. Class 11 went the way of Monaghan's Johno Doogan/Padraig Doogan in their Mk2 Escort with Seamus Doherty/Peter Byrne 2nd registered crew home in 3rd in class. Seamus Connolly/Gary McCrudden won the Drive of the Day award for their fastest class time on stage five although problems left them at the tail end of the field.
Class 12-15:
Arthur Kierans/Mac Kierans continued their class winning streak with another win in Monaghan and who would bet against them retained their Border title. Eamon McGuigan/Micheal Moran finished in 2nd place. Class 13 was dominated by Kieran McCarra/Colm Murphy who ran as high as 5th overall until mechanical problems dropped them to 8th place. Michael Conlon/Darren McCague followed them home in 2nd place. Daniel McKenna/Andrew Grennan scored a home victory on the rally as their Class 14 Escort profited on the retirements of the world rally cars to take a superb overall win. Declan Boyle/Brian Boyle were the 2nd registered crew home, 3rd in class and 6th overall to get their 1st points haul of the year. David Leonard/Darragh Mullen in the Mitsubishi Lancer were the only registered class 15 crew to finish despite a difficult day which left them well down the field.
In overall terms there is now a four way tie in the Drivers Section between Adrian Cannon, Barry McGill, Joe McGonigle and Arthur Kierans who each have 20 points. In the Navigators section, Paddy McCrudden, Ciaran Geaney and Mac Kierans also have 20 points each.
