After Craig and Gareth's amazing victory last weekend in the FIA WRC Academy, the Craig Breen Supporter’s Club in conjunction with the Carrick on Suir Motor Club are delighted to announce that there will be an official 'Home Coming Celebration' in honour of the Craig and Gareth’s achievement next Saturday 19th NOV, in John Roberts Square, Waterford City at 1pm Sharp.
On Saturday afternoon Craig and Gareth will drive the Kel-Tech Ford Fiesta S2000 that they will campaign next season in the SWRC up the Quay in Waterford City on to a specially constructed stage in John Roberts Square, where they will be interviewed about the biggest WIN of their careers. This is your chance to welcome home the New World Academy Champ’s. The event will see dignitaries from the Waterford and Irish Motorsport pay tribute to Craig as he returns home to a hero’s welcome. That evening everyone is invited back to the Rhu Glenn Hotel, Slieverue for food and a get together with Craig and Gareth.
Billy Collins, Chairman of the Craig Breen Supporter’s Club said,
“We had full confidence that Craig and Gareth would pull over the victory on Wales Rally GB and we initially planned to give Craig a home coming party on Monday but the news was released a few weeks ago that he would be going to Austria directly after Rally GB to take part in the FIA Institute trials. This has actually worked in our favour as it has given us time to put the final touches and have everything in place to welcome back the NEW WORLD ACADEMY CHAMPIONS IN STYLE.”
Terence Kearney, Chairman of the Carrick on Suir Motor Club said,
“On behalf of the Carrick on Suir Motor Club, it gives me great pleasure to welcome rally fans throughout the Country to come along to Craig native Waterford City on Saturday afternoon. Craig’s achievements over the past three years have elevated the profile of our Motor Club and winning the WRC Academy Championship last Saturday is just the start of his blossoming career. Holding this Home Coming Celebration is our way to recognise his success.”
