South East Vintage Motor Club’s Run in aid of S.E.R.T.

Providing Radiotherapy in the South East Region

On Sunday the 29th of May, the South East Vintage Car Club's will hold, what is expected to be the BIGGEST Classic and Vintage Run in Ireland.

The RUN is being organised by the Vintage Car Club's in the South East. The club's have come together to organise this HUGE event to RAISE much needed Funds for the South East Radiotherapy Trust (S.E.R.T.).

All Moneys collected will be donated to SERT. There is no FEE charged to enter but ALL donations will be gratefully accepted.

(SERT) was launched in November 2005 in response to the Minister for Health & Children, Ms. Mary Harney’s decision to provide public radiotherapy facilities at Waterford Regional Hospital for cancer patients from the South East. The principal aim of the Trust is to support the provision of radiotherapy for cancer patients from this area. The immediate aim was then to provide suitable vehicles to transport cancer patients who require radiotherapy from their home or a suitable pick up point to hospital. Six Years on The aim is still the same and much needed funds are still required to provide transport for the people who need it most.

Motorbikes, Tractors, Lorries, Scooters and Stationery Engines will all be taking part. The run takes place on SUNDAY MAY 29th. All the vehicles will gather in the IDA Business Park, Butlerstown, Cork Road, Waterford. (Opposite the Whitfield Clinic) from 10am.

On the day there will be a number of Routes around the South East differing for each class of Vehicle. All the vehicles will be on display before the off and with a huge turnout expected the Vintage Spectacular is not to be missed.

The Main Run for Cars and Motorbikes will congregate for a picnic in the Dungarvan area where all are welcome to come and see the huge selection of classic vehicles on show. It makes for a great day out for all the family.

This is a very worthwhile cause. Cancer affects every family and the work that SERT carry out helps so main people in the SOUTH EAST REGION.

This is the inaugural year of this VINTAGE RUN but it is envisaged that 2011 is the start of the South East Vintage Run becoming an annual event FUNDRAISER for SERT

The scene is set for a great day of Vintage proportions, with amenities for all the family including Bouncy Castles for the Kids. ALL are welcome.
