ARS Motorsport Ireland are pleased to announce the arrival of the all new 200/530-13 Kumho Ecsta TW02 tyre. Available in two compounds (K11 & K21). This tyre pattern made its debut to rallying at the Rally Ireland WRC event in late 2007 where Niall McShea used the 18" version to dominate the Production Class. Since then the tyre has been further improved and in February 2010 amongst others a 15" version was made available and immediatly showed incredible results for the modified contenders with Barry Meade in a 2.0 litre Escort MK2 taking a surprise 2nd overall in the national section of the Galway International Rally. The 15" version has been used to great effent with many class wins to date including a podium lockout at the recent national section of the Killarney International Rally.
The new 13" tyre developed by Kumho is the first of its kind in recent years with most manufacturers cutting the slick pattern tyre for wet conditions in the 13" size options. The results with the TW02 pattern to date have shown a great advantage over this usual method. The tyre disperses the water more efficiently and the durability the tyre on damp or drying roads is incredible.
