50th running of Rallye Le Touquet Pas de Calais, an event not to be missed

Touquet Auto Club achieves a notable milestone in 2010 with the golden jubilee of their flagship event, the Rallye Le Touquet Pas de Calais. Established as a must-do event on the French rallying calendar, the event has attracted some great drivers since its inception in 1959.

Opening round of the French Tarmac Rally Championship and incorporating the Citroen Racing Trophy, the event will take place from March 19th to the 21th and will see drivers from all over Europe taking part in the three day event. Last year winner, 5 times Belgian Rally Champion Pieter Tsjoen (Ford Focus WRC) is one of the hot favourite for 2010.

The 2010 rally will consist of 231 competitive kilometers of tarmac stage split in 18 SS circling the centralised servicing in the wonderful seaside resort of Le Touquet. Teams will be permitted to carry out a full recce (3 passes) of the route on saturday 13th/sunday 14th march or on wednesday 17th / thursday 18th march.

Shakedown stage will take place from 6.00 pm until 10.00 pm on thursday 18th march offering a final chance for crews to settle themselves in.

Scrutineering will take place from 9.00 am until 4.00 pm on friday 19th march and first car will be flagged off from the start-ramp at 6.30 pm for a spectator-friendly Super Special Stage along the sea front promenade. It will be followed by 17 special stages across the Opale Coast before the winners should be spraying the champagne at around 11.00 am on sunday, enables competitors to have a leisurely return home on the evening.
1400 Cup Bonus Scheme
The organisers of the Rallye Sunseeker (GB) and Rallye Le Touquet (F) have formed an alliance to cross-promote their events to competitors across the Channel.

The top 1400 crew to finish on 2010 Rallye Sunseeker will receive a Free entry to the 2010 Rallye Le Touquet. In addition, Fairfield Motorsport have also kindly offered a free return Dover – Calais Ferry Crossing for a Van + Trailer.

In a reciprocal arrangement, the top 1400 crew to finish on 2010 Rallye Le Touquet will get a free entry into the 2011 Rallye Sunseeker.
