Castle Combe Circuit is pleased to announce its Action
Day dates for 2010 and - after a record year in 2009 -
the same successful format will be repeated.
The Action Day season opens on Saturday 24 April, with
the Performance Car Action Day. This opening event has
sold out for the last three years, with well over 100 clubs
representing almost every type of performance car
applying for stand space and track passes. Enthusiasts
took advantage of some of the most cost-effective track
time to explore the performance limits of their cars. Back
for 2010 with more cars will be a drifting display, plus
special sessions for high-performance cars and
new-to-track drivers.
Classic and sports car fans are invited on Saturday 12
June for their own, dedicated event. Showing its diverse
appeal, already 50 Morris Minors are promised and will
be taking advantage of the Giant Classic Lunchtime
Cruise. In the sports car area, we will be celebrating the
Japanese sports car, with significant anniversaries for
both the MR2 and MX5 Clubs.
The central display will feature "Cars are the music stars"
and we are looking for enthusiasts with vehicles with car
models which are featured in music. So if you have a
silver Thunderbird, a red Corvette, or perhaps a big
yellow taxi, then come and display it.
Saturday 4 September sees the return of the Ajec Racing
Summer Performance Car Action Day. With support from
Ajec Racing, one of the west country's leading suppliers
of tuning parts and responsible for the preparation and
tuning of the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship lap
record-holding car, Ajec will bring their own blend of
displays and fun to what in 2009 proved to be the
fastest-expanding day of the year. With the promised
display of exciting super cars, a drifting display, and the
Ajec Parade (which features cars worth literally millions
of pounds), there is much to look at as well as enjoy the
track time.
Closing the Action Day season for 2010 will be "Mini World"
supported Mini Action Day on Saturday 25 September. With
the 50th Anniversary of the Mini in 2009, new Mini events
sprung up everywhere, but that didn't stop Mini World
Action Day from being the biggest and best ever, proving
the popularity of this well-established event. Back again
will be the Mini Cruise, with special displays and
attractions planned.
Castle Combe Action Days have been established for
almost 25 years and offer clubs, groups and
organisations the chance to apply for free display space,
free admission tickets and the chance to drive on Castle
Combe Circuit at heavily-reduced prices. For enthusiasts,
there is a chance to experience driving on a circuit for a
modest amount and - at the same time - enjoy the
atmosphere these events create, mixing with like-minded
enthusiasts, viewing the many displays, wandering the
trade stands and picking up a bargain in the Autojumble
area which operates during some days.
