The stand was designed to show the range and variety of club motorsport which is available - and to give nine championships a chance to showcase their disciplines.

So in no special order, Richard Egger Insurance thanks:

Historic Rally Car Register
British Historic Rally Championship
BTRDA Gold and Silver Rally Championships
Association of South Western Motor Clubs
BTRDA Allrounders & Motorsport Future
National Asphalt Rally Championship
Hillclimb & Sprint Association
BRSCC Club Formula Ford
Dial09 entry level motorsport for the disabled

Richard says: "This came as a huge surprise, as we did not even know there was such an award. Massive thanks must go to all the clubs, championships, competitors and teams who supplied cars, time and people to help promote club motorsport."

Motorsport Safety Fund

Ron Dennis CBE, Team Principal of the 2008 World Drivers' Championship-winning McLaren F1 team and Chairman and CEO of the McLaren Group, will deliver the 2009 Motorsport Safety Fund "Watkins Lecture" on Friday 9 January at the Autosport International Show, NEC Birmingham. This ever-popular annual event is named after Professor Sid Watkins - F1's safety pioneer - who made the very first presentation.

A growing highlight of the Autosport International Show, the lecture is these days attended by some 500 delegates. Previous presenters have been: Professor Sid Watkins (twice), Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, Max Mosley, Niki Lauda, David Richards CBE, Dr Terry Trammell, Martin Brundle, Ross Brawn, Bernie Ecclestone and Malcolm Wilson - a veritable who's who of world motorsport.

The lecture is primarily for the benefit of those directly involved in the field of marshalling and entry is strictly by ticket only. Ticket application forms are available in the latest edition of the Motorsport Safety Fund's bi-annual newsletter, "The Marshal".

The Motorsport Safety Fund is a registered charity formed in 1974 to help improve safety in motorsport. It does this mainly by communication through the annual Watkins Lecture and its publications and videos. The fund is run entirely by volunteers and the work it is able to do is governed by the amount of money it is able to raise.
