Pending approval by M I , and following on from the success of the two events earlier in the year , a further Rallysprint is scheduled for Sunday September 21st to be held at the same venue, situated just 2k east of Sligo town.
The track located at a disused industrial facility is predominantly a tarmac surface, and proved early in the year to be superb circuit with the ability to set extremely fast times in the dry conditions on both occasions. True to form Ronnie Coulter in the Rallycross Astra took the overall at the April outing while at the May event he was piped by Douglas Richardson in the highly competitive 2.4 Escort. The combination of fast sections coupled with a number of chicaned locations lends itself to a challenging time trial . Indeed it was a ten second time penalty on one of these chicanes which possibly destroyed Douglas Richardson’s chances of an overall on the April outing.
Once again , at the request of the site owners , spectators will not be allowed access with the facility and will be manned by security .
Tarmac tyres are mandatory and no co-drivers are permitted.
Regulations will become available at www.connachtmotorclub.com over the coming days and due to the limit on entries , competitors are encouraged return completed entry forms as early as possible.
