Lafarge Stages 2008
Posted: August 12, 2008 5:11 PM
The competition will be wide open as none of the past winners have entered to date, (Hence no car number 1!)
There is a potential big battle between all the open class runners with their superior power, traction
and brakes, that said, Lafarge Stages have always been technical and favoured the brave,
particularly if the weather is dry, then a great Mk2 battle is very definitely game on.
The Stages are great levellers for the Clubmen and it shows in the results as there have been almost
as many 2WD as 4WD previous winners.
There will almost certainly be a new name on the winners rostrum for the Champagne and Tyrone
Crystal Awards.
This is the tenth running of this tightly organised rally.
Some of the past winners have been Maurice Gass, Camillus Bradley, Glen Allen, Seamus
Donnelly, Raymond Johnston and Paul McKenna.
All the Awards, presented by Lafarge Cement, are Tyrone Crystal cut glass, to be presented after the
Champagne Spray Ceremony at Mid-Ulster Sports Arena.
The event starts with a Familarity Run at 9.20am Saturday 16th August from Loughry College
Cookstown.
