Laois Rally Sport Club (LRSC) to assist in running of Rally
Laois Rally Sport Club (LRSC) will assist Carlow Car Club Single Stage Rally on the 24th September 2006.
This is will LRSC first official event since becoming affiliated. In conjunction with Carlow Car Club, LRSC are to assist the running of a Single Stage (restricted) Rally on Sunday 24th September with Rally Headquarters being The Pedigree Corner, on the main Athy-Kilkenny road south of Ballylinan, Co. Laois.

The stage picked for the event is close to Rally Headquarters with minimum road mileage involved. The stage itself is tight and windy but with some fast stretches of straight road between the various bends and junctions and promises to test the most experienced of drivers.

Because of its restricted status it is ideal opportunity for the first time entrants and newcomers to the sport to get a rally under their belt.

The restricted element ensures that all competitors with National B competition license issued since 1/12/2004 will have priority entry once this fact is brought to the organisers notice. The restriction also ensures that only 2 wheel drive cars with a maximum engine capacity of 2000cc are allowed compete, therefore ensuring that this rally will be a true "clubman's" event.

Laois Rally Sport Club are happy to be running this rally with Carlow Car Club. Both clubs have worked well in the past, with LRSC having ran a stage of the Carlow Stages Rally for the past 3 years. As neighbouring clubs, it is hoped to continue working together to improve the promotion of Motorsport in this region.
