LinksWest International Rally 2001 - Cancelled

Galway Motor Club regrets to announce that in the light of a worsening Foot
and Mouth Disease scare, the proposed running of the West International
Rally 2001 has been postponed. It had been planned for November 2nd/3rd
2001.
The decision was not taken lightly, but the Committee had regard for
potential risks to the agricultural industry, and the cancellation of other
events in the area to restrict the spread of the disease should it break
out in Ireland.

The Galway Motor Club has approached Motorsport Ireland, the governing body, with a view to re-arranging the date for the West International Rally in 2002.
