The Circuit of Galway Retrospective car trial has been cancelled for this year as have other motorsport events due to the possibility of spreading Foot & Mouth disease.

With immediate effect, Motorsport Ireland, the Governing Body for Irish Motorsport, has suspended all events until 5th April. This has been done with the full co-operation and support of our affiliated clubs who are the organisers of these events. The decision has been taken in the national interest and in particular, in the interests of our many friends and supporters within the farming community who are going through such worrying times.
The event had been due to be based in the "Lady Gregory" Hotel, Ennis Road, Gort in south Galway on March 31ST and April 1st 2001.
With tight scheduling in the Irish motorsport calendar, there are no plans to reschedule this year's event.
