KA CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS FOR RALLY OF IRELAND

Fifteen Ford KA’s will start the next round of the 2000 Ford Ireland KA Rally Championship, The Rally of Ireland, based in Tallaght on Sunday the 27th of August next.

The Ford KA has been the dominant force this season in Class A5, not only taking numerous class wins on all the events undertaken to date, but also finishing within the top thirty cars beating much more powerful machinery in the process.

“The Ford KA is an amazing Rally Car, the cars handles brilliantly, is 100% reliable and has such huge levels of grip that it is very easy to embarrass more powerful cars” said James Travers, 2000 Ford Ireland KA Rally Champion.

“The Ford Ka has performed brilliantly over the last six rounds of the Ford Ireland KA Rally Championship, which underlines the KA’s total reliability, strength and driveability” said Declan Foley, KA Brand Manager.

Due to the popularity of the Ford Ireland KA Rally Championship, The Rally of Ireland will see newcomer Trevor Hutton from Carlow joining the ranks of Irelands one make Rally Championship. Trevor will be concentrating on next years Championship but has decided to register early and get some experience under his belt before next season.

James Travers from Kilkenny has clinched the 2000 Ford Ireland KA Rally Championship crown but second and third place has till to be decided with over £4500 still up for grabs. The competition will be as intense as usual, with John Carroll, John O’Dowd, Oliver Stanley and Liam Denning battling hard for the final podium positions.
