Followers of the Dunlop National Rally Championship might like to note that TV3 will televise last weekend's Millennium Autos Galway Spring Rally on Thursday night (30th) as part of their Sports Tonight programme which starts at 23:15.

The West Cork crew of Donal O'Donovan and Pat Lordan are to contest the remaining eight rounds of the Motorsport Ireland 2000 National Rally Championship. They have acquired the ex-Michael Barrable Toyota Celica 4WD Turbo (ST185), and will begin their Championship campaign on the Circuit of Kerry on April 9th.

The second round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship, the Millennium Autos Galway Spring Rally, saw Austin McHale/Brian Murphy take victory by 17 seconds from the Impreza of Donegal's Paul Harris/Eugene O’Donnell .

NESBITT TAKES EASY VICTORY IN DUNLOP NATIONAL RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP OPENER

Armagh's Andrew Nesbitt and navigator James O'Brien took an easy victory today in the opening round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship. Competing in the Ballina based Downhill Hotel Mayo Stages Rally, the Subaru Ireland/Cuisine de France backed crew set fastest time on seven of the eight Special Stages to win by over three minutes from Paul Harris/Eugene O'Donnell.

The I.R.C.A. was set up three years ago in response to a growing feeling amoung competitors that their voices where not being heard on a number of important issues within Irish Rallying, afterall the competitors do form a very important part of the sport and do deserve to be heard.
