The Tarmac Rally Organisers Association is pleased to announce that Cork Motor Club, organisers of the West Cork International Rally, has become full members of TROA. West Cork has been a part of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship since 2014. It held a round of the Modified and Historic championships before the mainfield also joined a year later. The West Cork International Rally has continued to grow from strength to strength and its 2022 edition was a highlight of the rallying year so far.

Colman Hegarty, TROA chairman:
“Since its introduction in 2014, West Cork has established itself as an integral part of the championship. It’s a very popular round with our registered competitors and spectators alike. “I would like to welcome the Cork Motor Club, West Cork International Rally, and their appointed TROA director, Mr Greg McCarthy, as full members of TROA Ltd. “I look forward to working closely with all involved to promote their event and the championship long into the future.”

Paddy Flanagan, ITRC manager:
“I am delighted that the West Cork Rally is officially a full member of TROA and the ITRC. “It has always been an iconic event with fantastic stages and this move can only enhance both the rally and the championship.”

Greg McCarthy, TROA director:
“Cork Motor Club is delighted to be full members of TROA and looks forward to working together with the board long into the future.
“The championship has been hugely beneficial to the West Cork Rally whilst we were guest members.
“We hope the rally will be equally as beneficial to the championship in the future too.”

The Acesigns Irish Tarmac Rally Championship is proud to announce that its top Ford Fiesta Rally4 crew in 2022 will receive a prize drive on the European Rally Championship’s Barum Czech Rally Zlin.

The incredible opportunity comes in partnership with M-Sport Poland who will provide a factory Rally4 Fiesta for the highly-acclaimed asphalt rally in the Czech Republic. Barum Czech Rally Zlin is the ERC’s penultimate round in 2022, taking place on 27-28 August.

M-Sport Poland has also provided a second prize for Rally4 Fiesta crews in the ITRC. The driver with the most RC4 stage wins throughout the season will receive a test in M-Sport Poland’s four-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta Rally3.

The 2022 Acesigns Irish Tarmac Rally Championship consists of seven rounds this year, starting with the Galway International Rally on 5-6 February.

Details of the two Rally4 prizes are listed below:

The highest classified Fiesta Rally4 driver of the 2022 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship will be awarded with an arrive-and-drive prize in an M-Sport Poland run Ford Fiesta Rally4 on 2022’s Barum Czech Rally Zlin.

From the remaining drivers, the Fiesta Rally4 driver with the most RC4 stage wins throughout the 2022 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship will be awarded a one-day test in Poland with the four-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta Rally3.

*M-Sport Poland’s prizes are subject to ITRC running all seven rounds with at least six Rally4 Fiestas starting each one.
ITRC Manager, Paddy Flanagan:
“I am very excited that M-Sport Poland has partnered with the ITRC.
“We are honoured as a championship that a manufacturer like M-Sport Poland is prepared to invest in the ITRC with these brilliant prizes.
“It will be brilliant to reward two young competitors with these prizes. To let one experience ERC, probably for the first time, will be a great pleasure for everyone in the championship.”
