The death has taken place of Frank Henehan (Athlone Rally Rescue)
Motorsport Ireland would like to express their sympathy on the recent passing of Francis (Frank) Henehan.Posted: January 14, 2021 1:26 PM
Frank was a stalwart of Irish motorsport and a regular marshal at Mondello Park and the Phoenix Park Races. In 1992, he set up Athlone Rally Rescue which has provided rescue services on approximately 1200 events across the country since. There’s little doubt that there are many people alive today thanks to the quick actions of Frank and his team. Frank’s son Fergal and his daughter in law Angela sit on the Motorsport Council. To them, and the extended Henehan and Lennon families we send our deepest condolences.

"In view of the sharp increase in Covid19 cases throughout the country, Francis' family request that the house & Mass are kept strictly private. The family understand that while people would like to be able to sympathise with them in person it would be against Government guidelines and dangerous for all in these difficult times."
