NEW FORMAT IN 2017 GRASS CHAMPIONSHIP

A championship Autocross (Grass Surface) will be run in a 2x2 format.

Following the completion Runs 1 & 2 the course will be altered for runs 3 & 4 i.e Badly Rutted Sections will be altered/removed.

Results will be determined by adding a competitors Fasted Run From Runs 1 & 2 along with his/her Fastest Run from 3 & 4.

Naas Driving Academy to sponsor the 2017 National Autocross Championship. We are delighted to have Willie Peacham and his team on board for the 2017 season.
A word from the new sponsor:

"We at Naas Driving Academy Training solutions are delighted to become the main sponsor of the Motorsport Ireland National Grass Autocross Championship for the 2017 season. I personally started racing in autocross a long time ago in a saloon and then in a special and have also competed in the British championship including the weston beach autocross. We attended a few events over the last 2 years and were very impressed how far the championship has developed both from an organisation point of view and the standards of venues.

We hope to enhance the image of the sport through social media and to encourage new drivers into the championship.

We will have on board cameras at the venues to record some action and may also encourage a top motoring journalist to enter an event.

Every budding young driver spends hours on social media and if we can paint a good picture hopefully we will get new drivers and club members at the same time.

We recently had a selection of cars at our training facility in Naas ,Co. Kildare and it caused quite a stir !
We were running courses on the day and 2 fathers who were in a Driver CPC class are steering their sons our way after seeing the standard of cars on the day ! They have spent a fortune on slab cars and drift machines but need a new adventure.

People have asked us why sponsor a national championship that doesn't have a round in Kildare?
Well we don't just operate in Kildare.
Our training services are vast and include forklift training, patient handling ,fire safety, lifting equipment inspections ,all first aid courses and Driving Instructor training for all classes. We find ourselves in demand throughout the country and we will be inviting some of our customers out to watch the action as we go county to county. The championship sticker kits will be ready soon ! We look forward to seeing you all in Birr."
