Mullingar Autos Skoda Announce Sponsorship Deal

The new Skoda dealership in Westmeath, Mullingar Autos are proud to announce their sponsorship of the upcoming Rallysprint event, being organized by the local Westmeath and District Motor Club. The service director of Mullingar Autos, Dan Bourke presented a cheque to car club member Declan Tansey outside the Skoda dealership this week. The Westmeath and District Motor Club say the sponsorship deal will help them present this quality motorsport event, which will feature a mixture of top rallycars competing for points in the www.LoughranSigns.com Midland East Rally Championship. The Rallysprint will take place at the Athboy Karting Track on Sunday the 24th of August. This event will be a convenient way for all the family to see quality motor racing action up close.

There will also be local interest at the event as Clonard native, Cyril Treacy will be competing in his self-built rallycar a 1995 twincam Suzuki Swift. Cyril has said he is very much looking forward to this event as it will be his first rallysprint and the first event for his newly prepared car. The racing will begin at 11am and all are welcome. LOCAL MOTORSPORT CLUB TO HOST A CHAMPIONSHIP RALLYSPRINT IN ATHBOY

The Westmeath and District Motor Club are again hosting a quality motorsport event in the area, a round of the prestigious LoughranSigns.com Midland East Rally Championship. This event will be a tarmac rallysprint event held at the Athboy Karting Centre, on the Delvin Road, Athboy, Co. Meath on Sunday the 24th of August. The timed runs will begin at 11:00am, with all competitors getting three timed runs of three laps each.

This event will see a wide variety of rallycar's compete for overall and class awards as well as the all important championship points. This event will be an ideal opportunity for all the family to see rallying in a convenient location.

The Westmeath and District Club is growing every year, with plans to run three motorsport events this year, if you are interested in Motorsport and want to start by helping the club run motorsport events, new members are always welcome and the club can be contacted through their face book page “Westmeathanddistrictclub” or by e-mail to westmeathanddistrict@gmail.com
