Photo: Andrew Fox “On behalf of the Midland Motor Club and the Stages Rally Committee I would like to welcome you to this year’s Shannon Key West Hotel Midland Moto Stages Rally 2011. Regulations and entry form are available on our website and Rally.ie This year we have changed territory and we have moved back across the Shannon into Co. Roscommon for a very challenging and exciting event. Stages again will be 3 loops ran 3 times with a Service after the first and second loop in St Faithleachs GAA grounds Ballyleague. Road mileage between Stages is kept to a minimum. Stage one consist of tight, narrow fast stuff with a lovely hairpin at Carniska Church which will surely suit Daniel McKenna in his Mk II Scanbits Escort. Cyril Rollins the experienced and veteran stage commander will with his team be keeping a close eye on the safety of this stage. This stage is 11.9km long. Stage two, under the watchful eye of Peter Dennehy and his team consists of more tight, narrow roads which will test the skill of both drivers and navigators on its fast 9.9km. Stage three around Castlemine sees local man Ollie Kelly as stage commander. Ollie and his team have a lot of preparation to do for this stage as it is almost 15km long. We are delighted to have the support of local businesses around the stages as sponsors and I would like to thank each of them. Our main sponsor again is The Shannon Key West Hotel and I would like to thank the Cox family for the use of their premises. So if you are taking part I would ask you to get your entry in A.S.A.P. or if you wish to help out in any way or you are coming to marshal please contact our Chief Marshal on 087 7709201 / +353 87 7709201 I would like to thank the residents on the Stages, Roscommon Co. Council and the local Garda Siochana without their help and approval we would not be able to run our Rally so please show respect and co operate with Marshals and officials at all times. I would also like to acknowledge all our friends in other Motor clubs who send Marshals and officials to help us over the weekend. Don’t forget our launch night on Friday Night 18th of March in the Shannon Key West Hotel at 8:00pm - a good night is to be had. Entry fee is reduced to an attractive €450 and the Rally is also a qualifying round of the Loughransigns.com Midlands East Championship and Round 3 of Johnston Toy town Club Championship.” Sean Cahill COC Rally Launch - Friday 18th of MarchPosted: March 1, 2011 11:47 AM
