Queen’s University Motor Club will be running their Summer Lanes Event on 24th July 2010.

This event is now in its third year and has quickly built up a reputation of being a highly enjoyable day out. The rally is made up of approximately 20 special tests through private land and farm lanes, each of which is somewhere between 0.25 and 1.00 miles long. There is no reversing required (unless things go wrong!). Cars will be subject to the same regulations as Navigation Rally cars, meaning that they should be taxed with a valid MoT, have no more than 4 forward facing beams, be all one colour with no advertising and be able to pass a noise test.

The organising team is made up of successful drivers and navigators and the event should appeal to those on both sides of the car. Navigating experience is not absolutely vital, however, as last year the rally was won by a navigator who was competing on her first ever event! The event is based in the Dundrod, County Antrim.
