Cookstown’s John McGlaughlin is organising a horsepower fuelled evening with a difference on Saturday 20 February!
Billed as a ‘Night at the Races’, Cookstown’s Greenvale Hotel will be transformed into a fun-filled evening extravaganza in what will be a fundraiser for McGlaughlin Motorsport and the Freeplay Foundation.
The Freeplay Foundation is the world leader in transferring wind-up technology to the poorest people least able to access information and education that could help lift them out of poverty.
Pre-recorded horse races will be played through the hotel’s television system, and the audience will be allowed to buy tickets to place bets on the winning horse. DVDs and races will be chosen randomly, ensuring nobody knows the result in advance!
Entrance to the venue is free and tickets to ‘buy’ a horse for each race will cost £10. If the ‘owners’ horse wins, then they are ‘quids in’!
There will also be a range of top prizes up for grabs in the Night at the Races raffle, with RPM, TAS Suzuki Racing, Kris Meeke and Eugene Donnelly among those who have supplied some excellent goodies!
And as an added bonus, there will be an auction for a corporate track day with McGlaughlin Motorsport, giving some lucky people the opportunity to experience passenger rides with John in his Mitsubishi Lancer rally car!
