Premier Auto Parts Munster Autotest Championship preview:

The next counting rounds (Round 13 & 14) of the Premier Auto Parts Munster Autotest Championship are happening this weekend. Patrick Power (Mini Special) will be defending his title and looks unstoppable this year with a total of 9 event wins out of 10 so far this year. All he needs is one more win this weekend and he will have scored maximum points for the championship this year.

Alan Coyle (Mini Special) and Mike Mulcahy (Mini Special) are having a battle for second place with only 9 points separating them so it is still anybody‚s game. Liam Cashman (Toyota Starlet) is currently in 4th place running 23 points behind Alan and Mike but has only completed 9 out of the best of 10 rounds so far this year so this weekend could move him up the leaderboard significantly. In 5th Place, only 1 point behind Liam Cashman is Alan Clarke (Mini Special), also with one more event required to score 10 rounds so after this weekend it is anybodys guess what the leaderboard will look like next week.

Round 13 is being Hosted By Imokilly Motor Club on Saturday the 22nd Aug, Venue: Springfield Industrial Estate, Youghal Co. Cork, Sign on at 4pm, Start at 5pm.

Round 14 is hosted by Skibbereen & District Car Club on Sunday 23rd Aug, Venue: CH Marine, Marsh Road Skibbereen, Sign on at 10am, Start at 11am. Visit www.skibbdcc.com for regs & further info. It is advised to travel to Skibbereen via Dunmanway/Drimoleague (Roads R586 & R593) to this event as the Tour of Ireland Cycle Race is passing through Skibbereen at 11am and travelling on to Clonakilty during the morning which may cause delays on the N71 for the morning.

Skibbereen & District Car Club are also running an event during this Autotest for the Share a Dream Foundation On the day five children from Share A Dream will get a special spin in some of the cars around a part of the course.
