GC Racing have today confirmed that they will enter a three car team in the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants Rallycross Open Championship, in the new Green and White Mini Spares Super Mini category. The team will be lead by Mark Griffin, who finished third in the 2009 Championship and he will be joined by Ian Clark and a third driver who will be confirmed shortly.
The teams lead car of Mark Griffin will also be on display at Autosport Show 2010, where he will officially reveal his new Fuchs Lubricants colour scheme and launch his title challenge for the Green and White Mini Spares Super Mini category within the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants Rallycross Open Championship.
"This is a great opportunity for myself and GC Racing and I would like to thank Fuchs Lubricants. In addition to this I will also be sponsored by www.hexup.co.uk (Engine Tuning), who are very keen to be part of the GC Racing team in 2010. The new category within the Open Championship is going to create an exciting year of racing. It will not just be down to the best driver but also the best team combination. It is still early days and with the Bell Rallycross Team also committing to the Championship, it will be interesting to see who else signs up for the Series. The prospect of racing at some new circuits in 2010 will be a challenge and it is great to return to venues like Knockhill after such a long time. Roll on 2010." added Mark Griffin.
Bell Rallycross Team have also confirmed this week that they will field a minimum of two cars in the 2010 Championship, which will be lead by David Bell who finished fifth overall in the 2009 Championship.
David Bell commented "GC Racing have thrown down the gauntlet with a strong driver line up for next season and we would like to expand to a three car team for the 2010 season. With the unique format of the Super Mini category and the new initiatives on offer we will have to consider our strategy very carefully in what is going to be a very competitive season.”
