The launch of the long-awaited Monaghan Motor Club 50th Anniversary book will take place on Friday 29th May in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan at 8pm. The launch will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the affiliation of Co. Monaghan Motor Club to the RIAC or Motorsport Ireland as it is now known.

This much heralded publication is a comprehensive account of the history of motorsport in Co. Monaghan since the mid – 1950s. It chronicles club events and activities on a decade by decade basis, primarily through the recollections of those involved as well as the news archives of the time. In addition to the detailed accounts, the book features an array of memorable photographs and lists the major events, award winners and organisers throughout the half century of the club’s existence.

If you were a former club member or indeed a current one or if you simply have a general interest in the history and development of motorsport, then this book is for you. By attending the launch, you can not only obtain a copy of the book but you may also meet many of the personalities featured. This is a night not to be missed – refreshments served. The book is priced at €20 and will be available for sale from 29th May.
