Press Release No.1 - O’Connell Group Cork 20 Rally 2025

Posted: September 3, 2025 2:49 PM

Planning for this years O’Connell Group Cork “20” Rally 2025 is now at an advanced stage with just 5 weeks to go. The organisers have been working day and night over the course of the last few months to put together the event which takes place on the 4th/5th October 2025.

Speaking earlier, Mr Kevin O’Riordan, Clerk of the Course once again for the Munster Car Club flagship event commented that preparations are at an advanced stage for this exciting event with final preparations well under way. Kevin stated, “we are delighted with the return of the Cork 20 to a 2-day format this year" the event has been planned with a strong focus again on competitors and presenting an event that is both challenging but competitor friendly with a really compact format allowing an easy reece for competitors with great stages in excellent condition but also minimum road mileage and scheduled in such a way so as to achieve an early finish on the Sunday to facilitate crews travelling home / travelling to ferry on the Sunday evening with the first car due back into Parc Ferme shortly after 3pm on the Sunday. The ratio of stage mileage versus road mileage is compact with the Saturday having 117km of stages to 144km of road mileage whilst the Sunday is even more compact with 94km of stages versus 75km road mileage. As usual the event will be based in the outstanding Cork Marts Complex which is a great central base for competitors. Kevin, went on to say that a huge debt of gratitude has to go to a large collective of associated parties, the residents along the stages who openly welcome the rally to their area and proposing to close the roads, Cork County Council for their ongoing support in the road closing application process, The Gardai, Emegency Services and Motorsport Ireland and many many more, too many to mention”

We the Munster Car Club would like to thank our Sponsors the O’Connell Group, Acesigns, associate sponsors and to the Clayton Hotel, Silversprings, Cork for coming on board after many years as an accommodation partner for the event.
