We are pleased to confirm that Gulf Race Fuels, one of motorsport’s most iconic names, will be supporting the KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship once again in 2023.
Gulf Race Fuels Business Development Manager Mark Gardner says:
“We really enjoyed working with the series organizers and many of the teams during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, we are excited to see how the 2023 championship unfolds. We are proud to offer trackside support to the competitors and excited that many are choosing to use Gulf Race Fuels as their preferred fuel in a bid to gain that competitive advantage over the field.”
Mitsubishi Evo 9 driver Aileen Forrest welcomes the on-event service:
“I have used Gulf Racing Fuel for a while now and it’s a comfort knowing that Andrew and the Rig will be attending all the SRC Events providing customers with a first-class service and a reliable fuel. It has been a great partnership helping me win the SRC Lady Champion title in 2022."
Gulf distributor and former SRC Champion Andrew Gallacher will be in attendance at all SRC rounds with a presence at refuel zones. Contact Andrew through his AG Motorsport business for further details on engine mapping and pre-ordering fuel.
KNC Groundworks Renews Title Sponsorship.

The Scottish Rally Championship are delighted to announce that KNC Groundworks Ltd will continue their title sponsorship of the Scottish Rally Championship for a further year.
The Alford based ground engineering company entered into a 3-year deal with the Scottish Rally Championship at the start of the 2019 season and will continue that relationship into 2023.
However, competitors will have more flexibility on the events they can select to contest as the number of scores to count towards their final Championship reduces to 5. Although predominantly a forest series, the Scottish Rally Championship has always included tarmac stages from as far back as Jim Clark, Scottish and Burmah Rallies, among others, in the early 70s. This reduction makes it easier for someone who wishes to contest only forest events to contest the Championship and potentially lessen the financial commitment to do so.
Putting together a series of events that suits everyone is a near-impossible task as a recent competitor survey has highlighted. In an ideal world the gaps between, and geographical location of, events would be optimised, and events would be rotated and moved around the country on an annual or bi-annual basis. Unfortunately, we don’t live in an ideal world so there has to be a balance struck. However, we believe we will once again have 8 well-organised and challenging series of rallies across all sorts of terrain and weather conditions between March and October.
SRC Chairman Roy Campbell:
“With all that is left of the 2022 KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship the excitement of the Award Ceremony on the 28th January, the management committee have been busy planning the 2023 Championship.
While the overall structure of the 2023 championship follows a tried and tested format, there are a number of organising teams who have already confirmed new plans for their events.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of 63 Car Club and the 25th running of the event there is an exciting new timetable being planned for the Speyside Stages, while the RSAC Scottish Rally organisers are looking at a new route and stages in addition to a new base given the recent closure of Lockerbie Lorry Park.
Recognising the financial constraints that are likely to be faced by competitors next year the committee has altered the scoring system for the Championship, with only 5 scores from the 8 events to count.
The event dates have been confirmed and more exciting news regarding the 2023 SRC will be released over the coming weeks.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all our sponsors, partners and supporters and to all competitors, officials, organisers and marshals without whom there would be no rallying.”
Between now and the end of the year Championship Regulations will be updated and sent to MS UK for approval. As always, the breakdown of classes and list of awards and incentives will be reviewed and updated as required to try and keep the championship interesting and relevant to as many competitors and cars as possible.
