Get Connected Rali Bae Ceredigion 2020 Event Announcement / Cyhoeddiad Digwyddiad

Posted: June 12, 2020 4:07 PM

Due to the ongoing situation caused by the global outbreak of Covid-19, organisers of the Get Connected Rali Bae Ceredigion have taken the regretful but inevitable decision to cancel this year’s event.

With national legislation and guidelines regarding social distancing, movement of people and large gatherings expected to continue for some time, rallies together with other major sporting events and well attended occasions have also become victim to the effects of the pandemic.

Chairman of the organising committee Phil Pugh endorses the decision and made the following statement:

“It is with much regret that we have had to cancel this year’s rally, especially after the success of our inaugural event last year. As always, the safety of everyone involved is our number one priority.

"We are extremely mindful of the community that so warmly welcomed the rally in 2019. While in the good times we can benefit the local economy by bringing revenue into the region, now is not the time for us to organise an event that will involve the interaction and movement of people over the next few months.

"Therefore, we have decided to make this announcement now, having taken into account the situation regarding the ongoing restrictions, information published by the sport's governing body Motorsport UK and the recent cancellation of Wales Rally GB.

“Later in the year when the situation becomes clearer, we look forward to working with local authorities and our commercial partners to discuss plans for 2021. In the meantime, on behalf of the organising team I would like to thank all of our stakeholders, competitors and followers for their understanding and continued support.”

Further news and announcements about the 2021 Get Connected Rali Bae Ceredigion will be made as soon as national conditions allow and when plans for the event have been put in place.

Oherwydd y sefyllfa bresennol ledled y byd yn sgil y pandemig Covid-19, mae trefnwyr Rali Bae Ceredigion Get Connected wedi gorfod gwneud y penderfyniad anodd i ganslo digwyddiad eleni.

Gyda'r disgwyliad y bydd deddfwriaeth a chanllawiau cenedlaethol ynghylch cadw pellter cymdeithasol, cyfyngiadau symud a chynulliadau torfol yn parhau am gryn amser, mae ralïau, ynghyd â phrif ddigwyddiadau chwaraeon eraill ac achlysuron a fyddai'n debygol o ddenu cynulleidfaoedd mawr, wedi cael eu heffeithio gan y pandemig.

Mae Cadeirydd y pwyllgor trefnu, Phil Pugh, yn cefnogi'r penderfyniad, a gwnaeth y datganiad canlynol:

"Siom o'r mwyaf yw gorfod canslo rali eleni, yn enwedig ar ôl llwyddiant ein digwyddiad cyntaf y llynedd. Fel bob amser, diogelwch y rhai a fyddai'n bresennol yw ein prif flaenoriaeth.

"Mae'r gymuned a roddodd groeso mor gynnes i'r rali yn 2019 yn bwysig iawn i ni. Er y gallwn fod o fudd mawr i'r economi leol trwy ddod â refeniw i'r rhanbarth, nid nawr yw'r amser i drefnu digwyddiad a fydd yn arwain at bobl yn rhyngweithio a symud o le i le dros y misoedd nesaf.

"Felly, rydym wedi penderfynu gwneud y cyhoeddiad hwn nawr ar ôl ystyried y sefyllfa o ran y cyfyngiadau ar hyn o bryd, gwybodaeth a gyhoeddwyd gan gorff llywodraethu'r gamp, Motorsport UK, ac yn dilyn y penderfyniad diweddar i ganslo Rali Cymru GB.

"Yn ddiweddarach yn y flwyddyn pan fydd y sefyllfa dipyn yn gliriach, edrychwn ymlaen at weithio gydag awdurdodau lleol a'n partneriaid masnachol i drafod cynlluniau ar gyfer 2021. Yn y cyfamser, ar ran y tîm trefnu, hoffwn ddiolch i'n holl randdeiliaid, cystadleuwyr a dilynwyr am eu dealltwriaeth a'u cefnogaeth barhaus."

Bydd newyddion a chyhoeddiadau pellach ynglyn â Rali Bae Ceredigion Get Connected 2021 yn cael eu gwneud cyn gynted ag y bydd amodau cenedlaethol yn caniatáu hynny a phan fydd cynlluniau ar gyfer y digwyddiad ar waith.
