Eakin Isuzu & Brian James Trailers, Lark in the Park 2017 - PRESS RELEASE 2

The Maiden City Motor Club has just released further details of the 2017 Eakin Isuzu & Brian James Trailers Lark in the Park rally.
There will be 2 stages run, one near An Grianan, Co. Donegal and the other in St. Columb’s Park in Derry on Saturday 22nd April 2017.
Up to 60 cars will compete on this special stage rally, which will have a total of 6 special stages, 3 in Donegal and 3 in St. Columb’s Park.
The event is based at the City of Derry Rugby Club, with Scrutiny and checking of crews and cars taking place at Eakin Bros. Maydown from 6:30am.
The rally is based at the City of Derry Rugby Club and will begin from there after 9:45am. Special restrictions have been placed on the Maydown A2 crossover point.
SPECTATORS
While the rally covers the 2 special stages, the public are encouraged to watch the rally in St. Columb’ Park, where good viewing areas are available.
Travelling fans are encouraged to use the car parks near Foyleside, using the Peace Bridge to cross to St. Columb’s Park. Some spaces are also available at Oakgrove Primary School on the Limavady Road.
Parking will be restricted on St. Columb’s Road/Browning Drive and Foyle Arena.
The adopted charity for Maiden City MC at this year’s 2017 Eakin Isuzu & Brian James Trailers Lark in the Park, is the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps, who will be assisting with collections on the day.
The event in the Park is family-friendly, with stalls and attractions for the whole family, including a special car parade between rally runs to hold the attention of all, with some rare and ‘exotic’ models in attendance. This will take place around 2pm.
Members of the public and potential rally Marshals/Stewards who would like to assist during the event, may attend a special information and training night in St. Columb’s Park House on Wednesday 19th April at 7:30pm.

The Maiden City Motor Club has just announced that it is running its first rally of 2017, a special Stage Rally on the Lark in the Park date, 22nd April 2017.
For the event, the Club are pleased to announce a new title Sponsor, Eakin Isuzu is association with Brian James Trailers.
Declan McCay, Clerk of the Course for the event today gave details of the new sponsor, and welcomed MD of Eakin Bros., Claudy, Mr Peter Eakin to the build-up to the event.
Mr McCay said he was delighted that Eakin Isuzu had joined the Lark in the Park event, and said, “I would like to thank Peter Eakin and the Eakin family for their much valued support again and hoped that the Eakin Isuzu, with Brian James Trailers brand success in the North-West and further afield.”
Mr. Eakin said, “We are happy to assist a local sporting event, and we believe our strong brand identity with Isuzu and Brian James Trailers, fits very well into the profile of this Lark in the Park. We look forward to seeing everyone at our popular stand which will be in the Park during the day, and meeting all our customers, old and new. Please feel free to come along and speak to our staff and find out more about Isuzu and Brian James Trailers.”
Mr. Eakin added that, “Of course there had been a long association with Eakin Bros. Maydown and local motorsport over the years, as we had hosted many rally forums and acted as sponsor to events run by Maiden City MC in the past.”
The Clerk of the Course gave brief details of the event, to be held on Saturday 22nd April, with 3 stages in the An Grianan area on the Saturday morning, with 3 special stages to the held in St. Columb’s Park from 1pm onwards, on the Saturday afternoon.
